I would like to thank all the people who showed their interest in MP so far, it’s encouraging. I think the first meetup is going to be very interesting and we will be surprised to see the caliber of Montreal Pythoners. That being said, I’m certain there are many more who haven’t heard about Montreal Python, and we need to reach out to as many people as possible (hint: please spread the word).

I would like to have some feedback about the following matters:

What do you think about inviting Soft. Eng./ Comp. Sci. students from local universities? Do you know any? What’s the best way?

Would you like MP to be organized in the open? Using a wiki for example (like BarCamp)?

Thanks again and drop us a word.

= =

MontrealPython.org aims to be a rallying point for Montreal’s python community. If you are a python programmer or are interested in python development, write an email to contact@montrealpython.org. Our mission is :

raise awareness about Montreal’s python development community

provide a place for local conversations about python software development

organize meetups or talks in Montreal area to share knowledge and experience

In this first post, I want to give shout out to www.montrealonrails.com for demonstrating how an active local developer group can be stimulating and fun. In many ways we have a lot to learn from Rails developers and, I suspect, a lot to share.

Ξ
